
This is my first attempt at this pattern and I really liked doing it as a different take on a traditional granny square afghan. My middle (first) rows did not look the same as pictured but I like how it turned out anyway. As you can see from the picture the skip chains look more like lines in between the 3 chains. I used a k hook when it called for a h hook because my red heart yarn was stiffer but also because I like using bigger hooks in general. Makes it feel like it is going faster. As a first attempt I liked this blanket and plan on making more. I was running out of the multi color yarn so I stopped and it’s a little small but perfect for a toddler! Can’t wait to donate it.
