This pattern I liked a lot and within the past month I finally tried it and ended up making 3 blankets with the pattern so far. I just tried to find the pattern online but it seems the site I found it on was taken down so I will add them below but in case it is temporary I did find the pattern at: http://www.geocities.com/missmarlad/childteardrop.html and this is NOT my pattern I did find it at the site above.
I liked this pattern because it worked up quickly and was easy once you started that there was little need to keep glancing at the pattern! The first two pictured were made using a Q Hook which came out great and went alot faster than the third blanket that I made I think with a J or K hook.
For the Q hook pattern use two strands of the same color yarn held together throughout and change color every two lines for the best look. The first white/red/blue blanket looks better, I think because the yarn was TLC Essentials (some scrap yarn someone donated to me) and its softer texture made it look better than the Q hook Red Heart Super Saver pink/purple blanket. As far as how much I used for this one afghan I had 2 skeins of blue (I think 6oz) 1 of red and 2 of white. I made this one and another ripple afghan I will post in a new blog. Out of the 5 skeins I got two afghans, both of which I was able to make within a week. So I recommend using a softer yarn.

I love Q hook patterns so whenever I am able to convert a new pattern to be able to be made using a Q Hook I will defintely post it!

I recommend ending on a number ending in a 7 because I had problems with the numbers given so if these do not work for you try that, but this is what the pattern gives. The Q hook pattern I think I chained 47 or 57 just stop when you feel its long enough and if you end in a 7 it should be long enough.
