I love this pattern because it really is so quick and easy. You can easily use any kind of yarn and hook and it all comes out looking great! I got the basic pattern from Lion Brand- Granny Treasure Afghan (the link is down below as this is NOT my pattern please click the link for the free pattern by Lion Brand).
The second picture shows a white/blue/green afghan and that is the first afghan I ever did using scrap yarn because I was bored one weekend and that's when I got the idea to start making Afghans for charity. Although it wasn't the greatest looking blanket I kept it to donate on Halloween weekend 2009 when I donated the first batch of 17 blankets that I made from January 2009 until August 2009.
I also looove the beige/maroon print blanket in the same picture. The color is Red Heart Sandy Print and I have like 5 unused skeins of it right now. It goes great with any other colors! With that blanket I was using up left over scrap yarn and I think it came out beautiful!
The fourth photo's blanket behind the front one shown as done using another afghan pattern (Lion Brand® Vanna's Choice Crochet Baby Granny Square Afghan) where is the second link I will post below. The first picture's teal/blue afghan also uses the same pattern. Using softer yarn is best for this pattern so it looks less stiff.
These blankets are part of the first batch I have donated and I will post a second blog right after this one with blankets made during the second batch which I am working on right now and plan to donate over Christmas break.
